Social Disruptions

Myotonic Dystrophy is not just a medical disease. It also causes all kinds of other issues. One of these is Social disruptions. Because of a number of the subtle issues people with myotonic dystrophy may find themselves more isolated Some of these reasons

1. Increased Sleepiness Hypersomia causes less interactions

2. More Apathy causes avoidance of interactions
3. Fatigue Causes inability to want social interactions
4. Families are affected with multiple individuals causes less support and more avoidance of social interactions
5. Reduce mental capacity in some cases causes issues
6. All the above effect employment, loss of employment leads to less social interaction
